As a steward to the land it is our goal at Tallgrass Farm to redeem the land that has been given to us, by means of rebuilding soils and healing it’s environment. To learn and share lessons of sustainable natural farming practices through tours, educational programs, and fresh food. By more natural systems of farming we can create more biologic, crop, and economic diversity for the farm and it’s local community.
We would love to show you more of the farm. We have several organized tours that we offer to individuals or groups. Tours include many of the crops around the farm, from bee keeping to large scale rice operations.
We strive to provide fresh local food grown in 100% organic practices.
After years of large scale farming practices across the farm we are consistently working to correct those operations that have damaged out land. We would love to tell you more about these changes, feel free to ask.
Born and raised on this small 460 acre rice and crawfish farm, and after running a successful photography business for over 26 years, Burt has found his way back to doing what he loves the most, farming. It doesn't take long in talking with Burt to understand his passion for farming and educating others while providing a local fresh food.
